Wabitake
A series inspired by wabi-sabi, the Japanese aesthetic that finds beauty in stillness and empty space. The materials are bamboo, with its beautifully expressive nodes, and iron, whose character deepens as time passes.
The “sabi” (寂び) of wabi-sabi is also layered with the “sabi” (錆び) that means the rust of iron.
Drawing on the passage of nature and the appeal of the materials themselves, we have given form to a Japanese presence that blends into contemporary spaces.
